Gili Air is usually described as halfway between Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno, ie not too busy but not too quiet. Hotels in Bali:
The backpacker scene in Kuta is still thriving and there are plenty of budget hotels to choose from in the Kuta area as well as a whole host of sufficiently seedy night clubs. For those looking for a slightly more up market area then head north of Kuta to Seminyak, Kerobokan and Canggu. For a much quieter scene head south of Kuta to Sanur, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran.

With the introduction of the new international airport in Praya, south Lombok is seeing an increase in tourism with more and more hotels to choose from in this relatively untouched part of Lombok. The main tourism center in Lombok is Sengiggi on the west coast which has some great boutique resorts and with a variety of day trips there's plenty to do if you want to be a bit adventurous.

Gili Meno is the quietest of the three Gili Islands, accommodation and restaurant options are limited compared to the other two islands but you can still get the feeling that you are on a deserted tropical island. Gili Trawangan is the busiest and most developed of the Gili Islands, while this is great for finding nice places to stay that cover all budgets, great for the nightlife and variety of restaurants, the quiet tropical island feel has gone. Its still a great place to be, but if you want something a bit quieter then Gili Air still has the best of both worlds.
