The quickest way to get from South Bali to Gili Trawangan is a fast boat departure from Padang Bai to Gili T. This route is perfect for people staying in Jimbaran, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur and Denpasar. It's also suitable for Airport arrivals or those staying in central Bali areas such as Ubud and Padang Bai. The crossing time is just 1,5hrs from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan.

From Padang Bai there is another option, the public slow ferry. This very cheap but rather uncomfortable trip from Padang Bai to Lembar, located in the south of Lombok, takes approx. 6hrs and from Lembar it is another 2hrs by car and local boat to get to Gili Trawangan.

The shortest route is only recommended for people who are staying in North Bali around Amed/Tulamben. From here you can simply take a fastboat with Freebird Express from Amed to Gili Trawangan which only takes 1 hr.

How to travel from Ubud to Gili Trawangan?
The fast boat from Ubud to Gili Trawangan departs from Padang Bai harbor. If you book your fast boat tickets from Bali to Gili Trawangan you can add a hotel transfer service from Central Ubud. Most of our suppliers offer a pick up service from a set pick-up point in Central Ubud. Ubud to Padang Bai is approx. 1hr by car (depending on traffic) and the boat transfer usually takes 1,5 hrs.

Hotel pick-up is usually 1-2 hrs before departure and Serangan fast boat departures often take between 2-2,5 hrs, Padang Bai departures take aprox. 1,5 hrs and from Amed to Gili Trawangan it takes 1 hr by fast boat. You can also fly into Lombok from Bali in about 35 minutes and travel 1,5 hrs by car and 15 min by boat to Gili Trawangan from Lombok Airport.

How to travel from Nusa Lembongan to Gili Trawangan?
The only operator going from Lembongan to Gili Trawangan is Scoot Cruises which can be booked on our sister site www.gilibookings.com. The boat originates in Sanur and after a brief stop in Lembongan continues to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Lombok. If this daily departure time does not suit your itinerary you could also take a fast boat from Lembongan back to Padang Bai in time to connect with one of the departures from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan.
Another option would be to take a local boat to Nusa Penida (15 mins) in time for one of the daily departures from Penida to Gili Trawangan (see below).
